Opened vs LinkedIn Jobs

Opened vs LinkedIn Jobs: focused shortlist or broad job search?

Both can help people find roles. This comparison looks at the workflow each product describes, not which one is universally better.

The short answer

LinkedIn is a professional network with a broad job-search product, job alerts and profile-based recommendations. Opened is a narrower candidate tool: readers review resume facts, choose roles and locations, then see engineering jobs with reasons to apply or skip. It can be useful to use both for different discovery paths.

Where LinkedIn fits

LinkedIn describes job search with natural-language queries, filters, saved jobs and job alerts. Some listings support Easy Apply; others send candidates to an employer or third-party site. Its professional network and profile are part of the broader product.

Where Opened fits

Opened keeps the product centered on one reviewed search: resume facts, target roles, locations and sponsorship preference. Each saved role includes a factual explanation; application happens on the company’s site. Sponsorship is surfaced only when the employer states it. Opened does not provide a professional network, employer messaging or auto-apply.

How to choose

  • Choose LinkedIn when you want a broad job marketplace, professional networking, and configurable search alerts.
  • Try Opened when you want an engineering shortlist organized around your reviewed experience and preferences, with a reason attached to each role.
  • Use the employer’s own job page as the final authority for whether a role is open and whether you qualify.

Pricing and limits

After profile completion, Opened provides seven calendar days of daily reviews, then free Sunday emails. Paid subscriptions continue daily delivery at ₹199 per month or ₹499 every three months, renewing until canceled. There is no card or automatic charge for the free period. Emails include a search update and useful reading when no new roles match. LinkedIn’s current product, plan and notification details are on LinkedIn’s pages; we do not reproduce or estimate them here.
